DockinaBox^® 2025 PHOTO CONTEST (THE “CONTEST”)

 

Official Rules and Regulations

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES.

 

HOW TO ENTER:

No purchase necessary. The Contest begins on April 11, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. and ends on May 16, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (EDT) (the “Submission Deadline”). To enter, visit https://dockinabox.com/photo-contest, complete the entry form and upload your photo(s) as a digital file (each submitted photo is a “Photo”). Digital entries only will be accepted. Print entries will not be accepted.

Photos can be uploaded electronically as jpeg and/or HEIC files; files should be at least 5 megapixels, or 2560 x 1950 pixels; image quality setting: high. Colour correction and tonal cast changes are acceptable; compositional changes, as well as added watermarks or signatures, will result in automatic disqualification. Entries that do not meet technical requirements will be automatically rejected.

Entries will be rejected if the entry form is not fully completed and the entry is not received by the Submission Deadline.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

Contest is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), except employees (and those with whom such employees are domiciled) or agents of DockinaBox®, its affiliates and their respective advertising and promotion agencies, and the contest judges. For any entrant who has not reached the age of majority, parent or guardian consent is necessary to enter the Contest. In the event it is discovered that you entered without consent from your parent or legal guardian, all entries will be void. For minors entering the Contest, the terms “You,” “entrant,” and “winner” mean parent or guardian of that person.

Entries are limited to individuals only; commercial enterprises and business entities are not eligible to enter the Contest. Submitted Photos must never have been previously published or accepted for publication in any media, exhibited publicly, or selected as a winner in any other contest.

 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

You must have taken the Photo that you submit for the contest. You must have the consent of all individuals who are included in the Photo and consent from the individuals who own the personal property (i.e. the cottage) featured in the Photo. Photo cannot show background artwork or items (including but not limited to clothing, tools, and vehicles) bearing business, designer, or sports logos or designs.

You represent and warrant to DockinaBox® that any submitted Photo is not defamatory or obscene and does not violate the rights of any third parties or any applicable laws.

You further represent and warrant to DockinaBox® that you have not used any form of generative artificial intelligence, whether now known or hereinafter devised, to create the Photo that you submit for the contest. For the purpose of this clause, “generative artificial intelligence” means tools, machine-learning models, and algorithms, used to create new content, data, and ideas, including without limitation to audio, code, stories, images, text, simulations, and videos.

DockinaBox® may disqualify any Photo that it deems, in its sole discretion, not to abide by any of the foregoing eligibility or submission requirements.

 

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY:

By entering the Contest and submitting a Photo, you grant (and warrant that any individuals shown in the Photo grant) to DockinaBox® a perpetual royalty-free licence to edit, publish, use, the Photo, in whole or in part, in any format and in any media (including without limitation print; websites, social media platforms, and other internet or mobile use; and advertising or promotional use), for any commercial or non-commercial use related to this contest, with attribution. There will be no compensation to you or any third party, other than the awarding of the prizes under this contest. You acknowledge that Licensees may modify the Photo; you hereby irrevocably waive all moral rights in connection with the Photo.

You warrant that you control all rights in each Photo, and will maintain the ability to grant the foregoing license to DockinaBox®, free of any limitations, restrictions or third party obligations.

You agree that DockinaBox® shall have the right to determine the extent and manner of use of any submitted Photo in their sole discretion and are not obligated to use any Photo. This includes but not limited to the following: Social Media, Brochures, Pamphlets, Web-sites, in-store promotional material. You agree that DockinaBox® is not responsible for return or preservation of any Photo.

 

THE PRIZES AND RETAIL VALUES:

The top 5 photos will be awarded gift cards that can be applied to products and accessories from DockinaBox®

3^rd Prize                     $550

4^th Prize                     $450

5^th Prize                     $350

Standard gift card terms and conditions shall be applicable.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. No
substitutions. All incidental costs and expenses not specifically included in the prize descriptions shall be the sole responsibility of the prize winner. If the winner is a minor in his/her province, territory of residence, such winner’s parent or legal guardian must accept the prize on his/her behalf.

 

WINNER SELECTION:

A panel of judges appointed by DockinaBox® will judge all Photos submitted on the basis of originality, creativity, technical proficiency, and uniqueness appropriateness, and relevance to the category of submission.

All judging criteria will be weighed equally. In the event of a tie, the Photo with the highest score in creativity will be selected as the winner. In the event of a tie in creativity scores, the winner will be selected by random draw. Judging will be completed and the winners contacted by May 23, 2025. If you have not been contacted by this date, you may assume that your entry is not a winner.

Odds of a Photo being selected by the contest judges as the winner of any prize
depend on the number and calibre of entries received.

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

Entries not complying with these contest rules will be disqualified.

No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected winners. Emails will not be used or sold for any other purposes.

This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law.

The decisions of the contest judges with respect to all aspects of this contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal.

Selected winners (or winner’s parent or legal guardian if winner is a minor) will be required to sign and return a standard Declaration, Liability and Publicity Release, releasing DockinaBox®, and their respective advertising and promotional agencies, and the contest judges, from any and all liability arising directly or indirectly from this contest, participation in contest related activities, the awarding of a prize, and the use or misuse of any prize.

By entering the contest, selected winners agree to comply with these official contest rules and agree to the publication, reproduction, and/or other use of his/her name, address, voice, statements about the contest, and/or personal photograph or other likeness without further compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by the DockinaBox® in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast, or digital.

DockinaBox®, its advertising and promotion agencies, and the contest judges are not
responsible for late, lost, misdirected, or delayed entries. Without limitation, DockinaBox®, its advertising and promotion agencies, and the contest judges will not be liable for the failure of any entry or Photo to be received.

DockinaBox® reserves the right to withdraw or amend this contest in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of DockinaBox® that interferes with the proper conduct of this contest as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, DockinaBox® reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. DockinaBox® reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind without prior notice or obligation.

By entering this contest, each entrant expressly consents to DockinaBox®, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing, and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the contest and in accordance with DockinaBox® Privacy Policy found at www.dockinabox.com, unless the entrant otherwise agrees.
